Find players, teams, matches and tournaments
Use one search box to find a player, a team, yesterday's final ("Red vs Blue") or a tournament, and narrow the results by type.
On this page
A parent wants yesterday's under-14 final. A coach is looking for the "St. Mary's" team. A student wants this year's inter-house athletics meet. One search box finds all of these: players, teams, matches and tournaments.
Before you start
- You don't need to follow anyone to find them. Search covers everything public on SportnNote.
- Type at least two letters. With one letter, you'll see "Type one more letter to search."
Step by step
- On Home, tap the ๐ at the top. Or open the Discover tab and tap ๐ Search.
- Type in the box, for example a name, a team, a tournament or a school.
- Results appear as you type, grouped into Players, Teams, Matches and Tournaments.
- To see only one type, tap its chip at the top. Each chip shows how many it found. Tap All to go back.
- Tap a result to open it.
What each type searches
- Players: by name. On the Players chip, tap โ Filters to narrow the list, for example by sport, city or age.
- Teams: by team name or short name, such as
RED. - Tournaments: by tournament name or by the host's name, such as your school.
- Matches: by either team's name, or by the tournament's name. The newest matches come first.
Find one match: "Red vs Blue"
To find a match between two particular teams, type both names with "vs" between them:
Red vs Bluered v blue
You'll get only matches between those two teams, newest first. This is the quickest way to find yesterday's final.
Searching by phone number or email
If you type a whole mobile number or email address, the search looks for that exact player. It only finds adults who have chosen to be findable this way. It never shows the number or email to you. Teams, matches and tournaments can't be found by phone number.
Common questions
The results say "Only Cricket ยท show all sports". What's that?
You have a sport filter turned on under โ Filters on the Players chip. It also limits team, match and tournament results. Tap show all sports to clear it.
What does "Not on app yet" mean next to a player?
Someone added that player to a team, but the player hasn't joined SportnNote themselves yet. Their stats are still recorded.
Why can't I find a tournament I know exists?
Check the spelling, or try a shorter word, for example athletics instead of the full name. A tournament the organiser deleted won't appear.
Part of the results say they "couldn't load just now". What should I do?
Your connection dropped for one type of result. The others are still shown. Search again in a moment.
Can I follow what I find?
Yes. Open a player, team or tournament and tap the follow button. See Choose your alerts.
