Correct a match after full time
Fix a goal or point given to the wrong player, or remove one that never happened, after the match ends. Every change is listed publicly as a score edit.
After full time, a scorer may notice a goal credited to the wrong player, or a point that never happened. Without a fix, the player's stats and the points table stay wrong. ✏️ Correct this match lets you fix the record after the match. Every correction is published openly, so players and parents can see what changed and who changed it.
Before you start
- Scorers and match hosts can correct a match for 24 hours after it ends. The button shows how long is left, for example "Open for 17 h 40 m more".
- Tournament hosts can correct their tournament's matches at any time. They own the points table.
- All taps from the scoring phone must have uploaded. While some are still waiting, the button is greyed out and says, for example, "Waiting for 2 taps to upload…".
- Cricket has its own ball-by-ball editor. See Fix a past ball, bowler or batter.
Step by step
- Open the finished match → Info tab.
- Tap ✏️ Correct this match.
- Read the message "Fix a scoring mistake?" and tap Continue. It reminds you that every change you publish is listed publicly.
- You'll see the match's entries, newest first, such as each goal or point with the team and player.
- If an entry never happened, tap ✕ Remove on it. Tap ↺ Keep if you change your mind.
- If an entry was credited to the wrong person, tap ✎ Player and pick the right player. Tap ↺ Undo change to go back.
- Changed entries are marked "removed" or "changed". Nothing is saved yet. Tap Preview at the bottom. The button shows how many changes you've made.
- Check the preview. Before → After shows the score and result before and after. Player stats shows each player's change, for example "R. Kumar · goals −1". Changes lists what you did, in plain words.
- Tap Publish, or Back to edit to keep working.
You'll see "Corrections published". The score, player stats and points table now use the corrected record.
What everyone sees
The match's Info tab gets a public Score edits card. Each correction shows the date and time, the name of the person who published it, and a line for every change. This keeps corrections honest. Nobody can quietly change a result.
Rules behind the feature
- A correction rebuilds the match from its record. The score, the result and the Player of the Match suggestion are worked out again from the corrected entries.
- A Player of the Match picked by hand stays. If a scorer already changed the Player of the Match, a correction doesn't replace it.
- A result entered by hand stays. If the match was ended with 🏁 End match… (for example "No result — Rain"), that result is kept and only the score is refreshed. See End a match early.
- The 24-hour window starts when the match ends.
Common questions
The Preview says the change "leaves the match unfinished". What does that mean?
Your changes would leave the match without a finished result, for example by removing the winning point in a set. Publish stays off so the result isn't lost. Change your edits so the match still ends.
I don't see Correct this match. Why?
Check that:
- the match has finished
- you are one of its scorers or hosts, and it ended less than 24 hours ago
- your scoring phone has uploaded all its taps
Tournament hosts can always correct, so ask them if the window has closed.
Does a correction change the points table?
Yes, if the result changes. The table always uses the published record.
Can I correct a match I watched but didn't score?
No. Only the match's scorers and hosts, and the tournament's hosts, can correct it. Anyone else can raise the problem with the organiser.
