You tapped 1 for a 4 in over 3, and only noticed in over 7. ↶ Undo would wipe four overs of good scoring. Instead, open the over editor, tap that one ball and fix it. The totals, the batter's and bowler's figures and the result all update. You can also fix a whole over's bowler, or swap two batters whose names were mixed up.

Before you start

  • During the match, only the phone that is scoring can edit past balls. See Only one phone scores at a time.
  • After the match, scorers and match hosts can correct it for 24 hours, and tournament hosts at any time. See Correct a finished match.
  • If some taps haven't uploaded yet, ✎ Edit a past ball is greyed out with "Waiting for 2 taps to upload…" under it. Wait until you have signal again.

Step by step: during the match

  1. On the Scoring tab, tap ✎ Edit a past ball just under ↶ Undo.
  2. Each innings has a header, for example "Red House 87/4 (11.3)". Tap it to open or close it. Overs are listed newest first, as "Ov 7", the bowler, and the batters who faced.
  3. Tap the ball you want to fix. A card opens under that over, naming the bowler and batter, for example "2.3 · Arjun to Ravi · 1 run".
  4. Make the change and tap Save. The ball gets an outline, and the change is listed under "Staged". Tap ↺ next to a staged change to drop it.
  5. Fix any other balls the same way.
  6. Tap Update score (1). The number is how many changes you're making. Cancel throws them all away.
  7. If the fix changed who should be on strike, you'll see "Who's on strike now?". Tap the batter who will face the next ball.

What you can change on a ball

  • A normal ball: the runs (0 runs to 7 runs), whether they were Off bat, Bye or Leg bye, and "Who faced?" (either batter at the crease). For a 4 or 6 off the bat, choose Boundary or All run. A ball that had overthrows shows an Incl. 4 overthrows chip: changing the runs drops the overthrows unless you leave that chip on.
  • A wicket: the kind of dismissal, the fielder for a catch or run out, and for a run out or obstructing, the runs completed and whether the Striker out or Non-striker out.
  • A wide or no-ball: switch between Wide and No ball, and the runs taken (+0 to +4 on a wide, +0 to +6 on a no-ball). On a no-ball, choose whether the runs were Off bat, Byes or Leg byes, and for a 4 or 6 off the bat, Boundary or All run.

A ball can't change type. A normal ball can't become a wicket or a wide, because that would move every later ball into a different over. The card reminds you: "To make it a wicket or a wide, undo back to that ball." Mankads, retirements, penalties and Super Over balls can't be edited here either.

Step by step: change an over's bowler

  1. In the editor, tap the bowler's name on that over.
  2. Under "Replace Arjun with…", tap the right bowler.
  3. Tap This over to fix just that over, or All overs by Arjun if the wrong name was used all innings.
  4. Tap the button that reads, for example, Replace Arjun with Kabir.

If the new bowler bowled the over before or after, you'll see an error such as "Kabir bowled over 6 — can't bowl consecutive overs."

Step by step: swap two batters

Use this when the wrong batter was picked, so their runs, balls and dismissal are under the wrong name.

  1. Tap a batter's name on any over they faced.
  2. Under "Swap all records of Ravi with…", tap the other batter.
  3. Tap the button that reads, for example, Swap Ravi ⇄ Dev.

Every record in that innings swaps between the two players.

Why strike can change

Each ball remembers who actually faced it. If you change a 1 to a 2, the batters end up at different ends from then on. The later balls still count for the batter who faced them, so only the current strike needs fixing. That's what "Who's on strike now?" is for.

Common questions

Can I undo an edit?

Yes. The whole update is saved as one entry, so tapping ↶ Undo straight after it reverses it.

Will people see that I changed the score?

Yes. Every update is listed with your name under Info → Score edits, so the score stays trustworthy for both teams.

I need to change the type of a ball from overs ago.

Undo back to that ball and score it again from there. It's the only way to keep the overs in the right order.

What about after the match?

Open the Info tab and tap ✏️ Correct this match. You use the same editor. Tap Preview (1 change) to check the score before and after, then tap Publish. See Correct a finished match.
