When a meet runs Group A and Group B and then semi-finals, one long table mixing everyone is confusing. SportnNote shows a separate table for each group or league stage, and keeps knockout matches out of the tables. Organisers can also give a team bonus or penalty points, such as −2 for arriving late. They must give a reason, and the reason is shown to everyone.

Open the points table

Anyone can view it:

  1. Open the tournament → Stats tab.
  2. Tap 📊 Standings & leaders.
  3. In a multi-sport meet, pick the sport at the top.

Organisers can also open it from ⚙ Manage → Points table.

How to read it

You'll see one table for each stage that has fixtures:

  • League (or just the sport name when it's the only stage)
  • Group A, Group B and so on
  • a Super round, such as Super Four
  • Swiss rounds

Knockout matches (quarter-finals, semi-finals, the final, play-offs) never appear in a table. The bracket shows those.

The columns are:

  • P played, W won, L lost, Pts points
  • D drawn, only when some team has a draw
  • NR no result, only when some team has one (see End a match early)
  • NRR net run rate, for cricket

A star after the points, like 12*, means the team's points were adjusted by hand. The reason is listed under the table, for example "* Red House −2 · late arrival · by Priya, 12 Oct".

Below the tables, Top performers lists the players leading the main stat for that sport.

Before you adjust points

  • You must be a host of the tournament.
  • A team only appears in a table once it has finished at least one match in that stage. You can only adjust a team that's in the table.
  • Each adjustment belongs to one stage. A penalty in Group A doesn't carry into the Super Four.

Step by step: add bonus or penalty points

  1. Open the points table.
  2. Tap the ± Adjust button at the end of the team's row. A small panel opens under the row.
  3. Tap − or + to set the points. You can go from −20 to +20.
  4. Type the Reason (shown publicly), for example "late arrival" or "fielded an ineligible player".
  5. Tap Save adjustment.

The team's points and position update straight away, and the reason appears under the table with your name and the date.

Step by step: remove an adjustment

  1. Tap ± Adjust on the team's row.
  2. Under the Save adjustment button, find the adjustment and tap the ✕ next to it.
  3. Confirm with Remove.

Rules behind the feature

  • Adjustments add to the points, not to the results. Wins, losses and goals stay as played.
  • Head-to-head tie-breaks ignore adjustments. When two teams are level and the rules compare their own match against each other, only that real result counts.
  • Every change is recorded in the tournament's activity history, including removals.
  • Win, draw and no-result points are set per sport under ⚙ Manage → the sport's format & points row. Changing them there updates the whole table.

Common questions

Can a captain adjust points?

No. Only the tournament's hosts can. Captains and parents see the adjustments and the reasons.

The table is empty. Why?

Tables fill in as results come in. A stage appears once it has fixtures, and a team appears once it has finished a match in that stage.

Can I give a team extra points for a match that was rained off?

Use 🏁 End match… and choose No result or Abandoned instead. Each team then gets the sport's "no result" points automatically, and the table shows it in the NR column. See End a match early.

Does a points penalty change a team's stats?

No. Player and team stats come from the matches only.
